Position Summary for Head Adjunct Coach : Position is responsible for the entire athletic
program. The position supervises and organizes coaching staff, conducts practices, and equips
student -athletes with fundamentals, techniques, and in-game strategies to be successful during
competition . The Head Adjunct Coach positively promotes the program within the school and
the community and works directly with the site Athletic Director and building administrator to
create a winning athletic program.
Position Summary for Assistant Adjunct Coach: Position aids and assists the head coach in
the coordination and supervision of the athletic program. The position supports head coach by
monitoring and motivating players during competition and practice s.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred

• Previous coaching experience preferred
Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, Etc.:
• Must be 21 years of age or older and be able to pass an extensive background check
and dr ug test
• Working knowledge of the rules and regulations as set forth by the Oklahoma State
Department of Education
• Successful completion of district approved annual compliance exam and in -service
training s including “Sudden Cardiac Arrest, Heat Illness, and Concussion ”
• Comp letion of professional development courses “Care and Prevention of Athletic
Injuries” or the NFHS equivalent course “First Aid Health and Safety” and “Fundamentals
of Coaching” prior to employment
• May be required to obtain a CDL
• Bilingual in Spanish is preferred
Responsibilities and Essential Functions: The following duties are representative of

• Treats all student -athletes, coaches, officials, parents, teachers and administrators with
respect and dignity
• Communicates any student health, safety or academic concerns with teachers,
administrators and parents when necessary
• Teaches fundamental skills and team strategies in a safe and legal manner
• Abides by and is knowledgeable of all TPS and OSSAA rules for athletic participation
and eligibility
• Cooperates with TPS administration and OSSAA in the enforcement of rules,
procedures or policies and reporting of any irregularities or violations
• Perform s other tasks, duties, or services consistent with this position as assigned
Skills and Abilities Required: The following characteristics and physical skills are important for
the successful performance of assigned duties. 
• Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school
administ rators, parents
• Must demonstrate organizational skills
• Must be able to work with a diverse population of student athletes, coaches, and
administrators
• Ability to work collaboratively with others on a team
Customer Contacts:
• Internal: TPS District Employees
• External: Students, parents, National Athletic Trainers Association, OSSAA , partnered
vendors, community members
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• This role does not directly supervise any individuals
Working Conditions: Exposure to the following situations may range from rare to frequent
based on circumstances and factors that may not be predictable.

• Must be able to work in extreme outdoor climates
• Must be able to work outside normal working hours with little notice including weekends
and holidays
• Must have reliable transportation
