Position Summary : Plans, organizes, and coordinates the required activities of Academy
students for a performance -based alternative education program at the Tulsa Academic Center.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education :
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of
degree
Experience :
• Military experience preferred
• Experience with youth program management /supervision required
Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, Etc. :
• Must have or be able to obtain CPR and First Aid certification
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Office Suite
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred

• Must be able to lead/direct students in drill and strenuous physical exercise
• Must be capable of bending, stooping, lifting , and carrying a maximum of 50 lbs.
Responsibilities and Essential Functions: The following duties are representative of
performance expectations. A reasonable accommodation may be made to enable a qualified

• Trains, supervises , and evaluates platoon leadership instructors
• Facilitates and coordinates training activities of subordinate instructors
• Facilitates and monitors small mentor group sessions
• Organizes and manages subordinate work schedules including compensatory and
annual leave
• Supervise s completion of the daily training schedule s and provide s guidance and
counseling to staff to assure proper supervision of students
• Manage s student discipline system
• Make s recommendations to the principal and assistant principal concerning program
needs and procedure revisions
• Conduct s periodic meetings to solicit input from staff and to disseminate information
concerning program policies and changes
• Perform s other tasks, duties, or services consistent with this position as assigned

with minority and low -income students

• Ability to create buy -in from people with diverse perspectives and backgrounds for new
ideas and approaches
• Open to change and applies critical thinking while developing solutions based on new
guidelines, methods and technologies
• Ability to act quickly and effectively in emergencies
Customer Contacts :
• Internal: TPS District Employees
• External: Students, Parents, Community members, partnered vendors , local and state
governmental agencies
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Directly s upervises Leadership Instructors
Working Conditions: Exposure to the following situations may range from rare to frequent
based on circumstances and factors that may not be predictable.
• Must be comfortable in a n indoor or outdoor physical education classroom setting
involving strenuous exercise
• Occasional travel to district and non -district sites
