Position Summary: The Building Automation Systems (BAS) and Energy Compliance Supervisor oversees the operation, maintenance, and performance of the district’s building automation systems and supports energy management efforts across district facilities. This role is responsible for monitoring system performance, coordinating maintenance and repairs, and supporting energy efficiency initiatives to ensure district facilities operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable standards. The posit ion supervises assigned staff and coordinates with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to support BAS operations and system improvements. Key Functions: • BAS Operations and System Performance • Energy Monitoring and Efficiency Support • Compliance and Regulatory Support • Project Coordination and Implementation • Staff Supervision and Vendor Coordination Minimum Qualifications: Education: ● Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in HVAC, Energy Management, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred ● (Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered) Experience: • At least five (5) years of experience working with building automation systems, HVAC controls, or energy management systems • Experience in commercial, institutional, or educational facilities preferred • Supervisory or lead experience preferred Licenses and Certifications: • Valid Oklahoma driver’s license required • Industry certifications (e.g., Certified Energy Manager, HVAC certifications, BAS controls certifications) preferred Knowledge , Skil ls, and Abilities : • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, and building automation technologies • Familiarity with BAS platforms and system integration (e.g., BACnet or similar protocols) • Understanding of energy efficiency principles and building performance • Ability to troubleshoot BAS and related system issues • Ability to analyze system data and identify performance trends • Knowledge of building systems networking and integration • Strong organizational and time management skills • Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate across teams • Effective communication and leadership skills • Ability to adapt to evolving systems and technologies Responsibilities and Essential Functions: The following duties are representative of performance expectations. A reasonable accommodation may be provided to enable a qualified individual with a disability to perform essential functions. • Oversee operation and performance of the district’s Building Automation Systems across facilities • Monitor HVAC systems, controls, alarms, and schedules through BAS platforms • Diagnose system issues and coordinate repairs with maintenance staff and contractors • Maintain BAS components including controllers, sensors, and network infrastructure • Support development and implementation of control strategies to improve system efficiency • Monitor and analyze energy consumption across district facilities • Identify opportunities for energy savings and support implementation of conservation measures • Track energy performance metrics and maintain system data and reports • Support energy efficiency initiatives, upgrades, and optimization efforts • Support compliance with applicable energy codes, environmental regulations, and district standards • Maintain documentation related to system performance and compliance requirements • Assist with audits, inspections, and reporting requirements • Support implementation of BAS upgrades and energy -related capital projects • Coordinate with contractors, engineers, IT, and internal teams during installations and upgrades • Review plans and support integration of new systems into existing BAS infrastructure • Supervise assigned staff supporting BAS and energy operations • Provide guidance and training to maintenance staff on BAS systems and best practices • Coordinate and oversee work performed by vendors and contractors • Support development of procedures and standards for BAS operations • Prepare reports on system performance, energy usage, and operational improvements • Maintain documentation of BAS programming, system architecture, and equipment inventories • Provide updates and recommendations to maintenance and facilities leadership Customer Contacts: ● Internal : District staff, school administrators, maintenance personnel ● External : Vendors, contractors, service providers, and regulatory agencies Supervisory Responsibility: • Supervises assigned staff supporting BAS and energy operations • Coordinates and oversees work performed by vendors and contractors Working and Physical Conditions: The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee may encounter while performing the essential functions of this position.
