Position Summary : Responsible for the general cleanliness and appearance of the entire
facility. The BGSS make s continuous checks of the building and grounds, keeping the site
leader and zone manager informed of any deficiencies. Submit routine service requests
through the work order system (Maximo) for any repairs that are beyond their capability . Call all
emergencies into the Maintenance work order des k, and report to the site leader and zone
manager . The BGSS maintain s intercommunication with the evening c ustodian(s) on any
problems relating to the cleanliness and appearance of their respective area(s). May be
responsible for maintaining a current city license to operate the boiler and to maintain the
swimming pool if applicable.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Good interpersonal and organizational skills
• Computer skills and ability to communicate on a professional level (verbal and written)
Experience:
• Previous experience as a custodian
• One (1) year supervisor y experience
Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, Etc.:
• Clear understanding of different cleaning products and equipment
• City license to operate boiler and maintain swimming pool if applicable
Other:
• Able or willing ness to learn Microsoft Office Suite and Google Office Suite
• Bilingual in Spanish a plus
Responsibilities and Essential Functions: The following duties are representative of

• Trains employees to perform their daily tasks
• Ensures that supplies, tools , and equipment are on hand to clean and maintain the
school
• Monitor s, inspect s and document s custodial performance
• Implements quality assurance programs to ensure the expected quality standards e
• Maintain s accurate sign -in and payroll records on all custodial staff
• Keep s an up -to-date maintenance log on all work orders open and complete
• Keep s appropriate logs on boilers, univents, pumps, pools and other equipment
• Ensures custodians completes the district and departmental training
• Ensures all safety procedures are followed,
• Sweep s and mop s
• Dump s trash
• Clean s windows
• Moves furniture
• Unlock s and remov es chains from all doors
• Turns on lights
• Fires, check s, and maintain s the boiler as required (if applicable)
• Turns on the air conditioning
• Monitor s, clean s, and maintain s the swimming pool (if applicable)
• Clean s and monitor s an assigned area
• Raise and lower s the flags
• Takes out the mail
• Ensures campuses are clean from trash and debris throughout the day
• Check s the playgrounds and equipment for safety concerns
• Replac es light bulbs
• Check s fire extinguishers
• Clean s the kitchen and cafeteria
• Clean s the sidewalks and entrances of ice and snow
• Replac es filters
• Calls in and turns in maintenance work orders
• Fills out weekly and monthly inspection reports
• Provide s Custodial staff with current work schedules
• Works with the zone manager to d ocument all training and counseling
• Visits with site administrators on regular bases
• Organize s summer clean up and any other cleaning projects as needed
• Perform other tasks, duties, or services consistent with this position as assigned

• Must be conscientious and exhibit good workmanship in all areas of position

Supervisory Responsibility:
• No direct reports
• Serves as primary contact for custodial staff at assigned location
Working Conditions: Exposure to the following situations may range from rare to frequent
based on circumstances and factors that may not be predictable.
• Outside work in all weather conditions – extreme heat and cold included
• Lifts up to 50+ pounds with assistance
• Climbs ladders
