Position Summary:
The Dual Language and World Language Partner, in collaboration with the Manager of Dual
Language and World Language Pathways and other members of Language and Cultural
Services, is responsible for delivering within their network high- quality instructional resources,
enhancing classroom practices, and scaling effective programs to increase Tulsa Public Schools students’ achievement and to prepare all students for success in college, career, and
life.
The Dual Language and World Language Partner works with instructional leadership directors,
school leaders, and teachers to provide leadership for dual language and world language
pathways in the district.
Key Functions:
● Serves as the dual language and world language pathways resource for assigned schools
● Provides coaching, modeling, co- teaching, and observation to school teams
● Engages in data -based strategic planning to support multilingual and academic growth
● Delivers professional learning aligned to district instructional priorities
● Serves as a liaison between schools and the district Language and Cultural Services
department
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
● Bachelor’s degree in education, English as a second language, bilingual education, or
world languages required; master’s degree preferred
Experience:
● Five (5) years’ experience in effective K -12 classroom teaching
● Five (5) or more years of experience in English language development, bilingual
education, dual language enrichment, or world language education
Licenses and Certifications:
● Current Oklahoma teacher certification required
● English as a second language endorsement or certification, world language certification
preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
● Embody and support the department in living Tulsa Public Schools’ core values
● Knowledge and understanding of curricular frameworks, pedagogy, lesson planning,
standards analysis, and quality classroom materials for Multilingual Pathway programs
● Deep knowledge of American Council for the Teaching of Foreign Languages standards, English language development standards, Spanish language development standards, learning, and assessment
● Skill in implementing culturally responsive education practices
● Familiarity with Tulsa Public Schools’ learning expectations and Dual Language and
World Language Pathways approach
● Ability to design and facilitate professional learning experiences aligned to Tulsa Public
Schools’ vision for professional learning
● Familiarity with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and
Outlook; familiarity with Google Apps (G Suite) for Education
● Effective time management and organizational skills
● Effective communication skills in English and the target language, including written and
oral fluency, grammar, and semantics
● Strong attention to detail
● A positive outlook, flexibility, and sense of possibility in stressful situations
● Effectively handle multiple demands and competing deadlines
● The ability to take responsibility for one’s own performance
● Work collaboratively with others on a team
● Maintain personal engagement in professional development that enables growth and
improvement for this position
● Knowledge of effective teaching and learning practices to support multilingual learners and students with disabilities highly preferred
Responsibilities and Essential Functions: The following duties are representative of
performance expectations. A reasonable accommodation may be provided to enable a qualified

● Serves as the dual language and world language pathways resource for schools,
providing expertise in collaborative activities such as strategic planning and professional
development with the goal of ensuring high levels of student achievement in language and content
● With the school leadership director and other partners, engages in data -based strategic
planning for the network’s schools with the goal of ensuring student well -being and high
levels of student growth in multilingual and multicultural proficiencies and ac ademics
● Works with the school leadership director and school teams to analyze student work and achievement data to adjust strategic planning and resource allocation at the network and
school level, and plans and delivers supports prioritized to schools with the hi ghest
needs, which may include individual or group coaching, modeling, co -teaching and
observation
● Provides professional learning in dual language and world language pathways for school teams to ensure progress on district priorities intended to improve teaching and learning
such as rigorous instruction, culturally responsive schools and classrooms, dat a-driven
instruction, and personalized learning
● Serves as a liaison between the school leadership director, the network’s schools and
district Language and Cultural Services department to ensure productive understanding
and use of district policies, resources and professional learning; as the liaison, p rovides
feedback to district departments on school support and customer service
● Prepares and reviews presentations, summaries, required reports, data, and other documents as needed for network planning as well as district and community reporting purposes
● Supports curriculum and resource development, develops and delivers district
professional development, and assists with professional development opportunities
provided by district literacy and assessment managers
● Volunteers as opportunities present to provide student support (i.e., classroom support,
field trip chaperones, etc.)
● Performs other tasks, duties, or services consistent with this position as assigned
Customer Contacts:
● Internal: Instructional leadership directors, school leaders and teachers, school teams,
and the Language and Cultural Services department
● External :Families and community partners, as needed for school support and district
reporting
Supervisory Responsibility:
● This role does not directly supervise any individuals
Working and Physical Conditions: The physical demands and work environment
characteristics described here are representative of those an employee may encounter while
performing the essential functions of this position. Exposure to the following conditions may
range from rare to frequent based on circumstances and factors that may not be predictable.
● Regular office environment, including frequent use of electronic email and prolonged
periods of sitting
● Travel to multiple school locations for meetings and services
● Drives to and from school buildings to work with school staff; walks through school
buildings and helps staff lift and move items in classrooms as needed
● Must be mobile in order to attend events and meetings outside of regular work hours
● Subject to stress caused by changing environment, complexity of the organization, tight
deadlines, and heavy workload
● Normal effort with occasional periods of light physical activity
