Also, we love to have fun! Position Summary : Complete all assigned work orders in a timely manner. Report labor, cost and any pertinent notes/information regarding all assigned work orders and return to your foreperson daily. Qualifications/Job Requirements : Education : • High School diploma or equivalent Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, etc. : • Current state mechanical journeyperson license • Current EPA certification • Thorough understanding of city codes and EPA regulations • Extensive knowledge regarding the operation of HVAC control systems, boilers, and associated heating equipment • Care and use of common hand tools Experience : • Five (5) years’ experience in maintenance of HVAC equipment • Must have thorough understanding of current city codes and EPA regulations • Must have extensive knowledge regarding the operation of HVAC control systems, boilers and associated heating equipment • Ability to perform routine preventative maintenance on all HVAC equipment Physical Requirements : • Must be able to occasionally lift more than 50lbs. • Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolds Other: • Able and willing to learn Microsoft Office Suite and Google Office Suite • Proficient in Spanish is a plus Responsibilities and Essential Functions: The following duties are representative of performance expectations. A reasonable accommodation may be made to enable a qualified individual with a disability to perform essential functions. • Assembles, installs, services, and repairs refrigeration systems including window air conditioning units, rooftop units, chiller units, and reciprocating systems • Performs preventative maintenance on all HVAC equipment • Coordinates with others shops as needed • Performs other tasks, duties, or services consistent with this position as assigned Skills and Abilities Required : The following characteristics and physical skills are important for the successful performance of assigned duties. • Thorough knowledge of various energy management systems, heating, ventilation systems, air conditioning and refrigeration systems; use of maintenance of trade specific materials, tools, instrumentation, and equipment • Must be conscientious, exhibit good workmanship in all areas of trade • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends without advance notice • Must have ability, skill, and willingness to learn various types of HVAC equipment assigned to department • Must be a self-starter, highly motivated, have a positive attitude and capable of relating to management, staff and other employees • Must have a thorough understanding of city codes and EPA regulations • Must have extensive knowledge regarding the operation of HVAC equipment and preventive maintenance specifications as it pertains to HVAC equipment • Must have the ability to learn mathematical equations, geometry, and sheet metal layouts for duct work Customer Contacts : • Internal: TPS District Employees • External: Partnered vendors, community members Supervisory Responsibilities: • This role does not directly supervise any individuals Working Conditions: Exposure to the following situations may range from rare to frequent based on circumstances and factors that may not be predictable. • Inclement weather including extreme temperatures • Confined working space, tunnels, and pipe chases • Hazardous materials, chemicals, asbestos • Must be willing to work overtime without advance notice Tulsa Public Schools is committed to building a diverse and inclusive team of individuals who contribute to the district's mission with their talents, skills, and energy.
