Position Summary: The Labor Journeyperson performs a variety of general labor and support
tasks across district facilities, including hauling, loading, delivering, and removing surplus
materials and equipment. This position assists skilled trades with general labor tasks and
responds to emergency situations including weather events, power outages, and fire -related
cleanup.
This role requires the ability to safely operate district vehicles of various sizes, use material -
handling equipment, and perform physically demanding work in a variety of indoor and outdoor
environments. The Labor Journeyperson works with moderate independence and coordinates
with other maintenance shops and school sites as directed. This position is part of the
Operational Contributor career track within the Maintenance department.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
● High school diploma or equivalent preferred
● Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
Experience:
• Minimum of six (6) months of related work experience in general labor, warehouse operations, or facilities support
• Previous experience using common hand tools and material -handling equipment
preferred
• Experience operating large vehicles including box trucks preferred
Licenses and Certifications:
• Valid Oklahoma driver’s license with a clean driving record required
• Ability to operate pallet jacks and other material -handling equipment required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Ability to safely operate district vehicles of various sizes, including large box trucks up to
26 feet
• Ability to operate hydraulic lifts, pallet jacks, and other material -handling equipment
• Ability to perform physically demanding work including frequent lifting, pushing, pulling,
and carrying
• Knowledge of safe loading, unloading, and hauling procedures
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to work effectively in extreme weather conditions and varying physical
environments
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency with or willingness to learn Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and basic
paperwork processing
Responsibilities and Essential Functions: The following duties are representative of performance expectations. A reasonable accommodation may be provided to enable a qualified

• Haul, load, unload, and deliver materials, equipment, furniture, and supplies to and from
district sites
• Remove and transport surplus items from school sites to designated storage or disposal
locations as directed
• Drive district vehicles of all sizes, including large box trucks up to 26 feet, in a safe and
responsible manner
• Operate hydraulic lifts, pallet jacks, and other material -handling equipment safely and in
accordance with district procedures
• Assemble and stage orders for delivery to district locations
• Assist with emergency response including flood cleanup, power outage support, fire-
related cleanup, and related situations
• Assist in clearing sidewalks, entrances, and parking areas of ice and snow at district
locations
• Assist skilled trades with general labor tasks as needed, including site preparation,
material handling, and cleanup
• Clean, inspect, and maintain delivery trucks and assigned district vehicles
• Follow all safety procedures, district policies, and applicable OSHA requirements
• Process required paperwork, delivery documentation, and work order records accurately
and in a timely manner
• Report labor hours and relevant work order information to the Foreperson daily
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in vehicles, staging areas, and at all job sites
• Coordinate with school site staff to ensure efficient delivery, pickup, and minimal
disruption
• Respond to emergency maintenance and facilities requests as directed
• Inspect vehicles and equipment prior to use and report any maintenance or safety
concerns
• Support setup and teardown for district events, surplus sales, and special projects as
assigned
• Ensure proper handling and disposal of materials in compliance with district and
environmental regulations
• Communicate effectively with site administrators, maintenance staff, and supervisors
regarding deliveries and work status
• Participate in department meetings, safety trainings, and professional development as
required
• Maintain current knowledge of safe driving practices, material -handling procedures, and
district safety policies
• Perform other duties, tasks, or services consistent with this position as assigned
Customer Contacts:
● Internal: Maintenance staff, Forepersons, and district Facilities leadership
● External : School site administrators, staff, students, families, and contracted vendors
Supervisory Responsibility:
• This role does not directly supervise any employees
• Works under the direction of the Foreperson and coordinates with other trades as
assigned
Working and Physical Conditions: The physical demands and work environment
characteristics described here are representative of those an employee may encounter while
performing the essential functions of this position. Exposure to the following conditions may
range from rare to frequent based on circumstances and factors that may not be predictable.
• Work performed in warehouse, school, and outdoor environments across district facilities
• Frequent travel between district sites operating assigned vehicles including large trucks
• Exposure to extreme weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, ice, and snow
• Work in physically demanding conditions including loading docks, storage areas, and
construction sites
• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, and walk for extended periods
• Ability to frequently push, pull, or lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and occasionally more than 50 pounds with assistance
• Use of personal protective equipment as required by job conditions and district safety
policies
• Potential exposure to dust, debris, cleaning chemicals, and surplus materials
• Frequent physical activity consistent with warehouse and outdoor labor environments
• Must be available to work overtime, evenings, and weekends without advance notice as required
